Looking to get involved in motorsport but not sure where to start? Here's a quick guide to help you choose the right event based on your interests and experience level:

Motorkhanas – Skidpan

Practice your precision driving on a low-speed, wet course. Cones are set up in different shapes—think rectangles and tight turns—to challenge your accuracy and car control. The wet surface (thanks to sprinklers) helps you explore the limits of grip in a safe environment.

Great for: Beginners and anyone wanting to improve throttle and steering control.

Motorkhanas – Figure 8

Held on a dry, purpose-built skid circuit, the Figure 8 is designed to help you build confidence in cornering and sliding. With one car on the track at a time, it’s a relaxed way to sharpen your technique.

Great for: Drivers wanting to develop skid control and handling skills on dry surfaces.

Khanacross

Think of it as motorkhana’s big brother—longer, faster, and usually on unsealed (dirt or gravel) surfaces. Courses can be up to 1.5 km long, giving you more room to build speed and learn car control at a higher level.

Great for: Those looking to gain experience at higher speeds on loose terrain.

Hill Climbs

A motorsport hill climb is a timed racing event where drivers compete individually against the clock to ascend an uphill course. It's a form of motorsport where drivers race one at a time, aiming to achieve the fastest time up the course. The course is typically a winding, uphill road, and drivers navigate it with a focus on speed and precision

Club Racing – Track Days

Get a taste of competitive track driving by racing against the clock—not other drivers. These events take place on professional racing circuits and offer a great introduction to high-speed driving.

Great for: Drivers new to circuit racing who want to experience the thrill of the track in a time-trial format.

Circuit Racing – Track Days

This is full-on racing. You’ll go wheel-to-wheel with other competitors on a closed circuit, with the winner determined by who crosses the finish line first.

Great for: Drivers with some experience who are ready for the intensity of real-time competition.

Rally & Off Road Rally

Explore mixed terrain and real-world obstacles like jumps and river crossings. Events vary from short courses under 15 km to long-distance challenges. Most require both a driver and navigator, though some solo buggy classes are available.

Great for: Adventurous drivers who enjoy dirt, gravel, and off-road challenges.
