And so it goes that the year is coming to a close. We have one last event coming on Saturday, which will see the championship go down to the wire. With accrued points over the year being tallied, this final session on the pan is going to be the one to make count!
For the cars who are meant to have the most grip, the AWD category is seeing a very tight competition for the 1st place trophy. Rob Benkovich,
Lachlan Spare and Cameron Mead are all battling for the title and with a 10 point difference between 1st and 2nd, its going to come down to how well everyones handbrake is working.
Moving to the cars that require the most precision and talent (imo), the FWD cars. Although there is a considerably smaller amount of cars (possibly because there aren’t enough talented drivers out there ;) ) The FWD group is getting very competitive for the 2nd and 3rd place trophies. Andrew Crick is well and truly ahead of the pack, however a non-attendence could harm his position quite considerably. Krystal Robinson and David Oliver currently sit neck and neck, therefore making this final skid pan the make or break. Time to wind up the windows, turn off the radio and let your wheels do the talking.
Finally the cars that have the most fun. The RWD group is in the same position as the FWD group. One driver (Stuart Milne) is well and truly ahead of the pack. 2nd and 3rd place though are very much up for grabs. Competing for those positions at present are Terence Lum and Will Harris, however coming up close in a position to grab one of the trophies is Matthew Crozier.
Just a reminder that Trophies are NOT handed out at the final skid pan day, and are actually handed out at our presentation night. For those of you in the running, now would be the perfect time to get on board (we don’t advertise these things for nothing!). Reservations close this Sunday 22nd November.
